Michel Bernard brings Arras and Vimy Ridge to life My friend Dean and I were in Arras, France to visit Vimy Ridge in August, 2022. As we didn't have a car, we needed transportation to and from our hotel in Arras to Vimy Ridge. The hotel arranged for Michel to pick us up. Michel runs a first class service and is more than a taxi service. His rates are less than commercial taxis, particularly on Sundays when taxis add a 30% surcharge.Michel is fluent in English. In addition to prompt pick up times both to and from Vimy, Michel became out tour guide. His knowledge of the history and geography of the whole Arras region is profound and extends beyond the usual things tourists see. On our drive back he took some detours to show us different sites that would be of interest to us. The next time we are back in Arras, we will be sure to use Michel again and this time will book a tour with him to get a more detailed sense of the area's history.Paul and Dean, Canada

Merci Michel your tour was in the top 5 of my Europe trip Having Michel as our driver was a blessing, he took us to so many areas of Thelus starting with picking up flowers to take to the cemetery where my grandfather rests. He explained other monuments and cemeteries in his town and I understand more about how much Canadian troops assisted France in WW1. I am so thankful to be able to travel in this area and understand part of what the Canadian soldiers endured during the war.

Excellent way to see the battlefield sites We booked Michel for 2 trips, one for Vimy, and one to Beaumont-Hamel and Thiepval. We're so glad we did. He offered additional context and insight along the drive, pointing out other areas of interest, and taking a different route each way so that we could see more. His suggestions of how much time we should allow at each site was right on, and we had only to call him if we wanted an earlier or later pick up. After discovering more information about my great uncle at Thiepval, Michel made an extra stop at a tiny gravesite, where my great uncle very possibly lies. It was very moving for me, and I really appreciated Michel's willingness to accommodate us. I highly recommend him.

Pleasant and Reliable Michel took us to Vimy in a clean, comfortable car. He was professional, friendly and informative..on the way back he took us a different way to show us a few more sites. He was an integral part of a very good visit to Vimy Ridge. Highly recommend.

Driver from Arras to Vimy Ridge Michel drove us from Arras to the Vimy Ridge Memorial. He was both friendlier and knowledgeable about the history of the area. He pointed out many interesting sites along the way.

Taxi It was amazing, our driver Michel was so good. It was a Sunday and we didn’t realize all the taxi drivers don’t drive on Sundays but a nearby hotel called him. He came quickly and drove us to vimy and then to some surrounding cemeteries. He was amazing and gave us so much additional information. 10/10 would recommend.

Excellent transportation from Arras to the Vimy Canadien Memorial The Canadien Memorial at Vimy Ridge is an awesome and sobering must-see experience for any Canadien or history buff. Thanks to Michel and RMB Transport the logistics of getting there was a pleasant experience. Though Arras is close, distance-wise, to the memorial, it is not easy to access by public transportation. Michel’s surface was friendly, fun, affordable, convenient, and efficient. I can’t add too much more to the many, many recommendations he has received on this site. I was helped by these recommendations ,and also would not hesitate to endorse his service. Cheers!

Un site émouvant emprunt de solennité et de paix silencieuse. Il faut bien compter 2 heures pour s'imprégner de la majesté l'endroit. Les alentours du monument réservent la découverte des cratères de bombes qui sont tombés ici à raison de 3000 obus par minute pendant une semaine. Cela explique les 66 000 morts canadiens à qui ce monument rend hommage.

Excellent Service and Highly Recommended for a trip to Vimy We spent the night in Arras after arriving by train from Amsterdam with a plan to see the Vimy Memorial the next morning before continuing on to Paris. Upon arriving in Arras, we contacted Michel and he was able to accommodate our last minute request for transport the next morning. He was wonderful! He arrived to pick us up at our hotel exactly on time and pointed out many sites with informative comments on the way to Vimy. He was lovely and you can tell that he is passionate about the history of this area. Since we were not going back to our hotel but were catching a train, Michel offered to keep our large backpacks in his car while we took in the memorial site which was greatly appreciated. He also provided us with bottles of water because it was a hot day. Michel picked us up and exactly the time we’d agreed upon and took a different route back to Arras so that he could show us more interesting sites. When Michel found out we still had a couple of hours to kill before our train to Paris he offered to drop us off at the Grand Place instead of the train station so we could grab some food, which was very nice. All in all, Michel added so much to our trip to Vimy and I would highly recommend him and RMB Transports should you be in Arras.
