We appreciated the water bottles and the alternate route back to Arras for stops at WWII cemeteries. Michel is a friendly driver who made our trip to and from Vimy Ridge easy and interesting. We booked transportation to the Vimy Ridge Memorial from the Arras train station. Michel was very accommodating and did 2 trips for us both ways as we had a party of 5 adults. Michel pointed out areas of interest and provided information on the history of the region. Michel gave us bottled water upon arriving at Vimy which was welcomed as it was a hot and sunny day. On the way back to Arras, Michel stopped at a couple cemeteries to provide general information, but also facts relating to Canadian involvement/significance for us. Michel dropped us off in Arras and provided some restaurant recommendations for lunch before our train. For Canadians visiting Vimy Ridge I highly recommend booking with RMB Transports as this is not just a transportation service, but a history tour as well. Michel thoughtfully spoke French with my niece but made sure we understood in English, when required. He is very knowledgeable about the local cemeteries and provided advice on the order in which to see things in the park. As it was Monday, and the centre wasn’t open until noon, this was helpful. He was prompt and friendly, taking us on different routes to Arras and back. Merci Michel!J H25 Juillet 2023Great Service made a great day even better. Just completed a visit to the Vimy Memorial. We booked transport with Michel only the night before and he was there at the Arras train station at the time and place he had emailed to us. Michel speaks English very well and provided good information throughout the drive to the memorial. He dropped us off at the memorial and we set a return time and he had bottled water for our family. We were running tight on our time to meet Michel for the return ride and he had no problem making the change. The return trip we stopped at a couple of more cemetery sites and Michel provide more history about them. $55Euro total……cannot be beat…..exceptional value. Met us promptly at the appointed time and location. During our drive to the Vimy Ridge Memorial, Michel provided a wealth of interesting information in English about the area and its history. We were able to enjoy a very informative and moving visit at the Memorial after which Michel again met us at the appointed time and location. On our return trip to Arras, Michel took a different route, and provided more information about the are and the fighting in the region during WWI, and we even stopped briefly at a couple of additional points of interest. Don't mess around with taxis if you're going to Vimy from Arras. Just set up an appoinmnent with Michel. You won't be dispappointed!!
